Beth Moore therapist
One of my main goals in therapy is to establish a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. My style is warm and relaxed, and often comes with a sense of humour. My approach is grounded in empathic, non-judgemental and compassionate listening. I strive to provide a comfortable and safe environment where you can securely discuss your concerns and distress. This includes a gentle and open demeanour that provides a foundation of trust and safety, enabling the therapeutic techniques I use to be meaningful and helpful. I tend to ask process-oriented questions to help discover patterns, and to help you better understand your own reactions and feeling. Together we will explore the concerns you bring to therapy with care, and work collaboratively to reduce symptoms and to think and feel differently. I also practice as an inclusive and anti-discriminatory therapist, with emphasis on sensitivity to issues of race, gender, sexuality, religion, and culture. With specific training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, I often see clients with issues such as general anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, perfectionism, depression, and low-self esteem.
I hold a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. I have specific training and certification in cognitive-behavioural therapy. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapist Association. In therapy, I tend to draw on cognitive-behavioural therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and humanistic therapy techniques.
