Caroline Rosta TherapistStyle & Approach:

My approach is founded on a caring and safe therapeutic relationship, a non-judgmental stance, respect for client autonomy, and a conviction that you are truly the expert in your own experience. I am committed to helping you feel heard, valued, accompanied and supported as you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, and develop greater trust in your ability to create the life you wish to live. I bring expertise in various theories, Best Practices, and systems of change that we can decide to incorporate when helpful. Furthermore, I believe that, in addition to our thoughts and feelings, our bodies and spirit can inform us in ways that may be difficult to put into words. I believe that recognizing signs and patterns in our lives can help us to learn to live in more coherent and connected ways that dignify our unique selves. I work responsively and respectfully with diverse clients, and through the lens of anti-oppression and anti-racism can help clients consider the impact of cultural, societal and systemic values and norms on personal experience. My practice is also trauma-informed, meaning that I acknowledge a possible connection between a client’s current reality and past distress or traumatic events.

Qualifications:

I studied counselling and psychotherapy in Scotland at the University of Strathclyde and the University of Aberdeen. I also studied Supervision through Edinburgh Napier University.
