Style & Approach:
Hi, my name is Nicolette Julien. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process, where you as the client are the expert of you and your story, and as we work together to build trust and a relationship, I can lend my clinical skills to aid in achieving your therapeutic goals. My approach is grounded in the style of therapy called Motivational Interviewing, where I strive to be collaborative and empathetic in order to elicit behavioral change.
My aim is to create a space that is built on non-judgement and empathy so that we can maintain a safe space to explore your concerns and goals. I tend to utilize multiple modalities depending on your needs and desired outcome for therapy, that include but are not limited to trauma informed, CBT, DBT, EFT, Narrative, Solution Focused, and Family Systems Therapy. I believe in therapy, creating a safe space to share vulnerabilities is a part of the process of empowerment, in turn we can feel less burdened and symptomatic in doing so. I hold this experience as a privilege, to join in your process of discovering new truths, meaning and solutions.
