Style & Approach:
In my work as a therapist, I believe relationships are of utmost value, and it is in relationship that change happens. I understand that it can be scary to share innermost thoughts and feelings, therefore I strive to create a warm, safe and collaborative atmosphere in which to explore the concerns and issues you are bringing forward. Therapy is a journey where we explore patterns and ways of being and relating in the world that have become problematic or are getting you “stuck”. Together, we can explore at your own pace, the goals you would like to work towards. I use a variety of approaches tailored to each client in order to fit your needs. I am sensitive to the fact that each person comes from a particular social location, which includes race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and culture, among other factors. I have worked with members of the LGBTQ+ community and bring a contextual lens to all my work with clients.
I have a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Toronto, and am Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have worked as a therapist in various settings and am trained as a clinical supervisor and offer supervision to other therapists. I have had in depth training in various modalities of therapy, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Art therapy and Solution focused therapy. I also have experience in providing group therapy using mindfulness and focusing approaches.
