How We Work

Our therapists build a warm, trusting relationship with you. They get to know you and your history. Then, they use their skills and techniques to help you feel better.

1

We get to know you. We’ll learn about your story, your current situation, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll ask about your history, past relationships, and experiences. We’ll also explore how you’ve coped. Together, we’ll build trust and understanding.

2

We agree on a plan. We’ll tell you about therapy techniques and modalities that we will use to help. We talk about what it will look and feel like and how we apply it. We’ll share insights we’ve learned about how it helps and why we think it can help you.

3

We talk and work together. We’ll use our therapy lens to guide you to process, understand, feel, and cope in new ways. We’ll talk about the past and present and give insight along the way.

Questions

Do you offer in person sessions?
Yes we do! Our office is located at 2313A Bloor Street West, conveniently on the Bloor subway line between Runnymede and Jane Stations. Many of our therapists offer in person sessions at this office, while some of our therapists are virtual only. If you’re interested in therapy with one of our therapists specifically, just click on their bio in our therapists page to see if they offer in person sessions. Or when requesting a session, be sure to check off your preference for virtual or in person sessions on our form!
What type of therapy do you offer?

We offer individual, couple, and family therapy to adults and adolescents. Please visit our service page for more information.

How does booking with your clinic work?

1. Once we receive your request, we will ensure we have the information we need about your availability, the type(s) of therapy you are looking for, the concerns you would like to discuss in therapy, and your insurance coverage.

2. We match you with the therapist at our clinic who is the best fit for you. We will then suggest this therapist to you and you will have the option to accept or ask for another option.

3. You accept the therapist referral, and your therapist contacts you to schedule a first session!

If you’re interested, we also offer a 15-minute phone consultation with your therapist prior to booking a first session.

Do you offer emergency or same day sessions?

True mental health emergencies cannot be addressed at private clinics and should be treated by emergency services like mobile response teams or hospitals. Since our therapists book sessions with clients in advance we are often not able to accommodate same day sessions – but sometimes it is possible. We can offer you a session as soon as possible with the next available therapist that matches your concerns. Alternately, we can provide you with information for walk-in counselling clinics in case of emergency. You can also find this information on our contact page.

What are your fees?

Our therapists with under 10 years experience charge $170 for 50 minutes and $215 for 75 minutes

Our therapists with over 10 years experience charge $190 for 50 minutes and $240 for 75 minutes

See more info about our fees here

Are your services covered by insurance?

Yes! Many extended insurance companies do cover our services. Please check with your insurance company directly if they cover registered psychotherapists or registered social workers
